چکیده
The Mongolian Plateau (MP) is in the interior of Northeast Asia, far from sea, and extremely vulnerable to climate change deleterious effects human activity. United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) explicitly set land degradation neutrality (LDN) as one sub-goals seventeen main tasks. However, achieving this goal Mongolia, a country with fragile sensitive ecological environment lack high-precision cover monitoring data, challenging. In study, we established rules for remote sensing-based classification reference threshold ranges based on an object-oriented sensing interpretation method. Then, obtained refined data Mongolia 1990, 2000, 2010 2020 30-m resolution. comprises 11 categories: forest, meadow steppe, real desert barren, sand, desert, ice, water, cropland built area. overall accuracies, corresponding aforementioned year, were 82.26%, 82.77%, 92.34% 81.84%, respectively. We found that showed apparent law zonal gradual change. Among them, barren land, steppe forest consistently four major types. Since last 30 years, areas present decreasing trend, showing trend shrinking south. Overall, presents wavelike shows fluctuating increasing trend. area relatively stable no notable changes spatial distribution. dataset study fills gaps high-resolution it can provide fundamental scientific support sustainable development MP.

Detecting Different Types of Directional Land Cover Changes Using MODIS NDVI Time Series Dataset
This study proposed a multi-target hierarchical detection (MTHD) method to simultaneously and automatically detect multiple directional land cover changes. MTHD used a hierarchical strategy to detect both abrupt and trend land cover changes successively. First, Grubbs’ test eliminated short-lived changes by considering them outliers. Then, the Brown-Forsythe test and the combination of Tomé’s m...
متن کاملLand cover/land use change in semi-arid Inner Mongolia: 1992--2004
The semi-arid grasslands in Inner Mongolia (IM) are under increasing stress owing to climate change and rapid socio-economic development in the recent past. We investigated changes in land cover/land use and landscape structure between 1992 and 2004 through the analysis of AVHRR and MODIS derived land cover data. The scale of analysis included the regional level (i.e. the whole of IM) as well a...
متن کاملTemporal changes in land cover types and the incidence of malaria in Mangalore, India.
BACKGROUND Malaria contributes to 881000 deaths worldwide annually and India is a major contributor in the region. This study aimed at detecting land cover changes and assesses their relationship with the burden of malaria in Mangalore taluk of southern India. METHODOLOGY Landsat TM images were obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey data repository. The statistics for the malaria incidences...
متن کاملMonitoring and assessment of land use/land cover changes in Kashkan basin using futures studies approach in managing ecosystem services
Land use/cover change is one of the main factors in environmental changes. The changes directly affect the value of ecosystem services. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of land use/land cover change in the Kashkan area on its ecosystem services. This research was carried out in three stages, including the analysis of land cover changes, prediction of changes, and carbon st...
متن کاملInfluences of Land Use/Cover Types on Nitrous Oxide Emissions during Freeze-Thaw Periods from Waterlogged Soils in Inner Mongolia
Nitrous oxide emissions during freeze/thaw periods contribute significantly to annual soil N2O emissions budgets in middle- and high-latitude areas; however, the freeze/thaw-related N2O emissions from waterlogged soils have hardly been studied in the Hulunber Grassland, Inner Mongolia. For this study, the effects of changes in land use/cover types on N2O emissions during freeze-thaw cycles were...
